Just installed my new window switch in a 2005 Subaru Outback. The previous switch had lost its "neutral " position. It would keep rolling the window up or down until you found the sweet spot. Very annoying. I watched an online video and was able to replace the switch in about 20 minutes with a box cutter, Phillips and standard screwdriver, and a plastic pry tool. Honestly, all you really need is the 2 screws drivers and something to pry the door panel loose to the point you can get your hand behind it. After that, you can essentially pull it off. New switch works flawlessly in all positions. Great product!

This is exactly what I needed. Perfect fit in my car. Switch Doctor has a great video library on their website that shows you how to install it. I recommend watching the video a couple of times and then going for it. I figure that I saved at least $150 by ordering this part and installing it myself rather than taking it to the dealership. Incidentally, I am the world's most un-mechanically inclined person, and I was able to install it with the help of their video. I am very pleased.

Used to Replace switch on my 2006 outback. Switch was easy to install and fit perfectly. lights on switch work as well. By far the cheapest I could find new. Would recommend to any subi driver.

Several Youtube videos told me that I could do this. And I did. I was a little hesitant to pull door panel completely off - but a little stength and wiggle and pull - and off it came. Disconnected all wires (door lock, door light and window switch harness) and no problems. At first I was worried I bought the wrong part as the SWITCHDOCTOR unit did not match the one I removed from the door.. but then I realized that I needed to transfer the top fascia/housing of the old switch onto the new one. Cut the OEM tape that was wrapped around the sides of the old switch and found clips to remove the fascia/housing. Popped onto the new switch and reinstalled everything. Took maybe 30-45min tops. Another 30 mins of Youtube prepwork before starting for a total of 60-90 min. No issues. Thank you ! Oh - the reason I needed a new switch was because my Driver window button lost its spring.. and no longer returned to the Neutral position. If you are not careful and return each switch to the middle position ("OFF") then the motor will burn out.

For the money you will spend on this, it fits and looks awesome! Don't let the reviews that it didn't look as it should for you... When you replace the OEM part you have to take off the top cover and transfer it over. It requires cutting the felt wrap that is around it and I replaced it with black duct tape. This will help keep it in place and keep it from rattling. The only shortcoming I can see with this switch, is the auto function is not as smooth as the original... But I think for most of us replacing these we would rather have any function than no function at all. Great product. Fit my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon.
